Jag legal are your your local Lower Hutt based team of dedicated general practice lawyers, we specialise in taking care of your everyday legal needs with a personal and supportive approach. We deal with the day to day legal needs of individuals, their families, their family trusts and their businesses.
Nicola Jones
Director
Nicola has been practicing as a Solicitor for over 20 years, principally in Lower Hutt. Nicola has experience in advising clients on a range of legal matters including buying and selling property, trusts, estates and succession planning. Nicola has particular expertise in advising on relationship property and separation matters. In terms of commercial and business matters, Nicola advises on company structures, leasing and business arrangements.
Mikayla Sander (nee Turner)
Senior Associate
Mikayla is an experienced Senior Associate Solicitor who has a range of experience dealing with separation, dissolution of marriage, relationship property, and asset protection. She advises clients on the pre-separation process and provides independent legal advice on Contracting Out Agreements / Prenuptial Agreements. She gives practical and effective legal advice and strives to help her clients reach amicable resolutions outside of court. Mikayla also assists her clients with preparation of wills, property sharing agreements and residential conveyancing.
Peter Tatham
Senior Associate
Peter has 35 years’ experience as a lawyer and has practiced in suburban and rural locations throughout New Zealand, initially in the litigation field, but more recently in General Practice. Peter is experienced in residential, commercial and rural property sales and purchases, selling and purchases of businesses, subdivisions, wills, enduring powers of attorney, trusts, and administration of deceased estates. Peter can assist with advice about most legal issues encountered by individuals, families, and small business people.
Darshan Patel
Associate
Darshan is an experienced Associate Solicitor whose areas of expertise include trusts and estate planning, wills and enduring powers of attorney and a range of business and commercial law matters. Darshan has a practical commonsense approach in representing his clients.
Rebecca Tait
Solicitor
Rebecca was originally hired as an intern in 2024, graduated that year and is now a fully qualified Solicitor. Rebecca is assisting the team with the administration of our estate files. Other areas of law that Rebecca is assisting with, are wills, enduring powers of attorney and trust and property matters. Rebecca is keen to learn and expand on her experience.
Connor Mitchell
Graduate
Connor is the newest member to join the JAG Legal team and is in the final stages of graduating as a Solicitor. Connor is assisting the team with the administration of our estate files. Other areas of law that Connor is assisting with, are wills, enduring powers of attorney and trust matters. Connor is keen to learn and expand on his experience. Connor has been chosen to represent New Zealand in the World Championships 2025 in the sport of Taekwondo.
Mike Basil-Jones
Consultant/Notary Public
Mike has now retired but continues to provide support to the practice as required.

Jessica Hall
Conveyancer
Jessica is a registered Conveyancing Practitioner and a Fellow member of the New Zealand Institute of Legal Executives. Jessica has experience in various property areas including residential conveyancing, refinancing transactions, and subdivisions. She has a passion for residential conveyancing, in particular guiding the first home buyer through the often-daunting process of buying a home.
Jessica is dedicated to providing a high standard of professional client care and services and aims to make the client experience as stress-free and seamless as possible.
Mary Ward-Tyree
Legal Executive
Mary is a Legal Executive who has gained experience in Law Firms and Trustee Companies both in Lower Hutt and New Plymouth. Her areas of expertise lie in residential conveyancing and refinancing, and estate planning, including wills and enduring powers of attorney. She is very client focussed and enjoys building relationships with clients.
Bronwyn Lloyd-Jones
Legal Executive/Conveyancer
Bronwyn is a Conveyancing Practitioner and Legal Executive. Bronwyn has extensive experience working in several large Corporate and Boutique Law Firms across New Zealand and Australia. Her areas of expertise lie in residential and commercial conveyancing and refinancing.
Kimberley Veale
Legal Secretary
Kimberley was our Administrator & Receptionist but has recently progressed into the role of Legal Secretary working alongside and assisting Jessica. Kimberley is also our Trust Account Administrator ensuring the smooth processing of all funds coming into and going out of our Trust Account.
Angela Asovale-Felafoaina
Legal Secretary
Angela has experience working in management and administrative roles in a variety of industries. Angela supports our legal team in her role as Legal Secretary. Angela enjoys helping and building relationships with our clients.
Jane Piotrkowski
Practice Manager
Jane is our Practice Manager and has worked predominantly in Law Firms throughout her career. Jane has held a variety of roles, including Trust Accountant, Practice Manager and Legal Executive. Her wealth of experience helps guide our practice through the rapidly changing business environment we work in.
Jordan Rolls
Receptionist/Trust Account Administrator
Jordan is our Receptionist /Office Administrator. She welcomes clients when they come in for meetings and greets them when they telephone the office. Jordan also performs a variety of essential duties that enable our office to run smoothly. Jordan enjoys assisting our clients and is willing to help in every way she can.
